In 2008 the University of Wollongong initiated the “Better Balance” Falls Prevention Program focusing on utilising exercise to reduce the risk of falls in the elderly.
Katerina was involved in this program and continues to provide this service at Rehabilitation in Motion Exercise Physiology. The program focuses on falls prevention for individuals over 65 years who have had a fall or have been identified as “at risk” of falling. A GP referral is required to be involved in the program with Exercise Physiology services accessible through Medicare or as a private client (health fund rebates may be available).
Group based seniors exercise classes are also available.
